PAGASA Says Cloudy to Rainy Weather Expected Until Christmas Day

PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Thursday (December 22, 2022)

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the Philippines will have cloudy to rainy weather conditions until Christmas day.

On Thursday (December 22, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The northeast monsoon and a low-pressure area will affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that a low-pressure area has been last spotted 215 kilometers east northeast of Hinatuan town. The Northeast Monsoon will be affecting Luzon.

The LPA will bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Central Visayas, and Caraga.

“Magpapa-ulan pa rin ang LPA sa malaking bahagi ng Visayas at Mindanao habang iirial pa rin ang malakas na amihan (northeast monsoon) sa Luzon hanggang sa araw ng Pasko,” weather specialist Benison Estreja said.

The localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy weather condition with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms over the rest of Visayas.

The northeast monsoon will bring similar weather condition over Palawan, including Kalayaan Islands, Occidental Mindoro, Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Metro Manila, and the rest of Luzon.

The weather agency has also raised a gale warning over Batanes, Cagayan including Babuyan Islands, Isabela, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Aurora, the eastern coast of Quezon including Polillo Islands, Camarines Norte, the northern coast of Camarines Sur, northern and eastern coasts of Catanduanes, Zambales and the western coast of Palawan including Kalayaan Islands.
