Dennis Trillo now has more understanding of the life of Jose Rizal
Kapuso actor Dennis Trillo said that the death of Jose Rizal, who is considered a National Hero, is now more meaningful to him.
This coming December 30 is the 126th anniversary of the death of Rizal. Due to his portrayal of the character of Crisostomo Ibarra in the Kapuso primetime series Maria Clara at Ibarra, Dennis’s perspective on this matter has widened.
The said historical portal drama series is based on Rizal’s novel Noli Me Tangere which received criticism from the Spanish regime during his time as he tackled the injustices that many Filipinos experienced back then.
In a recent interview on 24 Oras‘s Chika Minute, based on the article in GMA Entertainment, the actor shared what he realized about Rizal’s traits.
“Ganun ka-forward mag-isip, ganun kalalim yung pagmamahal sa pamilya, lalong-lalo na sa bayan,” Dennis Trillo said.
Regarding his portrayal of Crisostomo Ibarra, the actor teased about the exciting things that viewers could look forward to in the series, especially since the story is set to have its transition from Noli Me Tangere to El Filibusterismo.
“Sinong mga characters yung mga mapupunta dun sa book 2, kung papaano makakaapekto yung mga experiences nila dun sa Noli pagdating sa El Fili,” Dennis shared.
The shooting for the series is still ongoing and they would only have a few days for their holiday break.
Meanwhile, when asked about his holiday plans, the actor said that he will be staying with his wife actress Jennylyn Mercado and their kids. For him, it is important to who he will spend the holiday season with and not where he is.
“Hindi importante kung saan, importante yung mga kasama mo and yung quality ng time na ibibigay mo sa kanila,” Dennis Trillo stressed.
