What rating did the ‘Magpakailanman’ episode of Bea Alonzo get?
A-list actress Bea Alonzo did her first Magpakailanman episode last Saturday, the same time that Maalaala Mo Kaya aired its final episode.
The Kapuso drama anthology is celebrating its 20th anniversary while its rival MMK has ended after more than 30 years. Previously, MPK‘s host Mel Tiangco said that she was saddened upon knowing that Charo Santos’s show has ended.
MMK has become an institution in the history of television shows in the Philippines. Before its finale episode, the show gathered 30 letter senders who shared their stories for the Grand Kumustahan event. They shared the lives that they had after their letters were read by Charo on the show and how MMK helped them.
For the 20th anniversary of MPK, the show featured Bea Alonzo who also did several episodes for MMK when she was still a Kapamilya.
Based on the article in the Philippine Entertainment Portal, last Saturday’s episode of MPK featuring Bea got an 11.2 percent rating while MMK’s final episode got 2.8 percent only. Entertainment columnist Gorgy Rula said that the rating that the Kapuso drama anthology got last December 10 seemed low for its 20th anniversary.
Columnist Noel Ferrer commented that this holiday season, TV ratings are plunging because people’s attention is diverted to other things.
Meanwhile, in a previous interview, Bea Alonzo shared that she is set to do a TV series with Kapuso heartthrob Dennis Trillo and there is another one that she is not allowed to talk about yet.
Bea’s first project as a Kapuso, the adaptation of the South Korean series Start-Up PH is leading to its finale. Her first Kapuso leading men were Alden Richards and Jeric Gonzales.
The actress also shared that she will be doing her reunion movie with her longtime leading man John Lloyd Cruz.
