Filipino restaurant based in Manila called Toyo Eatery has its own way of making people feel and taste Filipino culture.

TOYO EATERY – Championing Filipino cuisine for many years now is Toyo Eatery and here are some details about this restaurant.

In Filipino, “toyo” means soy sauce, and found along Chino Roces Avenue in Makati is Toyo Eatery, a contemporary Filipino restaurant. The place’s aesthetic is composed of unfinished cement pavement on floors and acacia tables – accents and designs that are very Pinoy.

The place is held by Chef Jordy Navarra. Before opening this place in 2016, he had trained at The Fat Duck in the UK and at Bo Innovation in Hong Kong. It is included in the list of Asia’s 50 best restaurants.

And what made this restaurant stand out is the unique and nationalistic ways of cooking their food. The chef made these playful and inventive takes on classic Filipino dishes and her customers, ever since then, are loving them.

Toyo is open every Tuesday to Saturday and operates from 6 PM.

According to Menu PH, their menu is made of craft cocktails, beer, hot tea, a tasting menu, and an eatery menu.

Under the craft cocktails, they serve Tapuey Sour, Come & See Me, Cocktail #5, Provincial, Fifi, Don Jon, Daisy Fay, Trudeau, and Boozy.

Their tasting menu has steak worth Php 3,500.00; pork BBQ worth Php 2,900.00 and; fish worth Php 2,900.00.

You can also dig into several dishes like oysters, kilaw of wild talakitok, garden vegetables, burnt kalabaza, grilled belly and loin of bangus, three cut pork BBQ, lightly grilled mackerel, Blackmore karubi, and silog from their eatery.

They also offer 3-course and 11-course tasting menus priced at Php 1,000.00 and Php 2,900.00, respectively.

For the 11-course tasting menu, a guest will be served tomato meringue with ginataang langka; kilaw of wild talakitok, lime, and sesame; tamban, malunggay, young corn, and sichuan; “relyenong” pusit with mustasa; lugaw made of crab Roe and burnt kalabaza (squash) with coconut vinegar; garden vegetables; lightly grilled mackerel with semi-ripe guava and kamias; three-cut pork bbq; silog; and among others.
