Sean de Guzman is proud of his MMFF 2022 movie
Actor Sean de Guzman reacted to the bashers of his movie My Father, Myself which is one of the official entries of the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2022.
The said movie is directed by prominent filmmaker Joel Lamangan and it received an R-18 rating from the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB). It has been a common thing in MMFF that movies for families are being featured.
With this, there were those who criticized Sean’s movie with Jake Cuenca and Dimples Romana for entering the official list of entries. In a recent interview, based on the article in Bandera, Sean addressed those people who are criticizing the film.
“Para sa akin masakit siya minsan, iyong iba kasi, mababasa mo na sinasabi ng iba na, ‘Akala ko ba ang MMFF ay pang-family, pangmasaya lang? Pero bakit may ganitong entry?’ So, hindi pa man nila napapanood ay dyina-judge na nila,” he said.
On the other hand, Sean de Guzman said that these criticisms also have a good effect on their movie because people are talking about it. He said that he is happy that people are supporting their film and he is proud of this project.
“Dahil unang-una ay kay Direk Joel Lamangan ito and of course, ang gagaling ng mga kasama kong artista rito, specially sina Kuya Jake, Ate Dimples (Romana), at Tiffany (Grey),” the actor said.
Sean also encouraged people to watch the movie and not just criticize it immediately. The actor also expressed gratitude to Direk Joel who launched his career in the entertainment industry. It was also the director who became the way to have his two international acting awards.
Sean de Guzman admitted that he was challenged by Direk Joel Lamangan but that pressure pushed him to do his best as an actor.
