Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray bashed by Kakampinks or Leni Robredo supporters after spotted with Ilocos Norte Governor.
The beauty queen’s visit to the province of Ilocos Norte is currently trending on social media. Catriona Gray, the 2018 Miss Universe, recently visited Ilocos Norte for an episode of her “Raise Your Flag” YouTube series.
She traveled to Batac City and sampled their renowned empanada. Meeting with the governor, Matthew Marcos Manotoc, was one of Catriona’s activities when she was in that region.
Together, they created an Ilocos empanada. The governor shared some photos of them together. After pouring ketchup on her empanada, Catriona gained popularity. Her method of consuming Filipino food drew a range of responses from the online community.
One internet user, however, took issue with the beauty queen’s actions. Netizen Monique Timozarap expressed her anger at Catriona in a tweet due to her close relationship with the governor, who is the nephew of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
“I just saw Catriona Gray on the internet that she had with the extended family of Blengblong. I’m disappointed with her, kasama niya ‘yung Matthew Marcos sa Ilocos Norte. Ano ginagawa n’ya don? Wala ba siyang natitirang kahihiyan para kay Atty. Leni?” netizen said.
People will recall that Catriona backed former vice president Leni Robredo during the most recent election. Many famous people and artists endorsed Atty Robredo. Sadly, the former vice president was not won over by celebrity.
The Philippines has already won the Miss Universe crown four times: in 1969 with Gloria Diaz, in 1973 with Margarita “Margie” Moran, in 2015 with Pia Alonzo-Wurtzbach, and in 2018 with Catriona Gray.
Australian-Filipina beauty queen Catriona is the 2016 Miss World Philippines. Her mother, Normita Ragas Magnayon, is a Filipina from Oas, Albay, and her father, Ian Gray, is an Australian of Scottish ancestry.
