Senator JV Ejercito received criticisms from netizens due to his recent Twitter post about Jose Rizal University basketball player John Amores.

Basketball fans were shocked when videos of Amores punching players of the College of St. Benilde. He became a trending topic because of this. The JRU’s player got bashing online. Some netizens commented that he is indeed an “MVP” but the meaning of this is the “Most Violent Player.”

Amid this issue, several memes also surfaced as netizens shared their funny reactions to what happened.

One of the prominent people who reacted to this was Sen. JV. In his recent tweet, he shared a meme featuring the photo of former Senator Manny Pacquiao, who also plays basketball, aside from boxing.

In the photo, these words were written: “Tara, John Amores.. Practice tayo..papawis lang. – Pacman.” In the comment section of his post, Sen. JV Ejercito received criticisms from netizens.

There were those who said it was inappropriate for him to comment on the issue with that kind of remark against Amores. “This is not funny and not right. imbes na mag promote kayo ng sportsmanship , your joking about violence,” a netizen commented.

Meanwhile, Benilde players Jimboy Pasturan and Taine Davis filed a physical injury complaint against John Amores. They were joined by their coach Charles Tiu. Atty. Aldwin Salumbides, the legal counsel of the Benilde players said that Amores has not reached out to the victims of his punching spree.

As of this writing, the JRU’s player has not spoken yet about the said incident. Just recently, video footage surfaced online showing that Amores was crying after the punching spree happened.
