WALKING LECHON – A photographer once again witnessed and captured the site of a pig walking around freely in Burgos, Siargao Island.

One of the tourist destinations in the Philippines is the island of Siargao. The beauty of the island was featured in several films and TV projects which made it draw visitors even more. A lot of people who are into surfing love to keep on coming back to the island for the water sports activity.

Meanwhile, despite its prominence, there are conscious efforts to preserve Siargao Island. One of the reasons why some people prefers Siargao over other islands is because of the serenity, calmness, quietness, and peace it exudes.

Furthermore, it has a lot of other unique offers – like the walking lechon? Currently, the photos of a pig walking freely in Burgos, Siargao Island are circulating on social media. The said photos were taken by Jicko.Andanar Photography.

Walking Lechon

In his post, the photographer tagged Burgos as the “most magical and enchanted place” for him as he described it to be filled with superstitious stories and breathtaking views of the seas. He also cited the stories about the white limousine roaming around Burgos and the citylike lights in the mountain forest.

According to the photographer, he was at the island 27 years ago. It was his first time to see pigs and piglets roaming freely in the road.

Recently, the photographer returned to Siargao Island and, once again, he saw a mother pig covered with fresh pure brown mud. She is walking freely in the street and sniffing the grass. In their comments, some netizens tagged it as “walking lechon”.

Indeed, the pure brown mud that covers the skin of the pig makes it appear like a walking lechon. Here are some of the photos posted by the photographer on his Facebook page:
