Mikee Cojuangco recalled this moment when she was in her 20s
Actress Mikee Cojuangco revealed that there were two actors who fought against each other and she was the reason behind that.
Mikee was a former equestrian. She represented the Philippines in various international sports events. The actress even took home the gold from the 2002 Asian Games in Busan, South Korea.
Her successful career in sports was put to a halt. Mikee had to stop and take a rest when she got injured and this give a chance to her to be in the entertainment industry. In a recent episode of Surprise Guest with Pia Arcangel, based on the article in The Philippine Star, Mikee Cojuangco shared one memorable experience in showbiz that she had.
It was because Pia asked her if there was a time when she was courted by actors. Mikee said that there were two actors who even fought over her. At first, she just read about this and just laughed but eventually, she saw the actual fighting.
One time, she has a dubbing session for a movie, and actor 1 came because he also has a project there. “Tapos dumating ‘yung isa kasi nalaman nga na nandoon ako. May work din nearby. Wala pang cellphone noon, wala pang beeper. I didn’t have a beeper kasi ayoko nga ‘yung mako-contact ako. Tapos after, may nag-aaway daw sa labas,” Mikee shared.
The actress told her director about this hoping that he will mediate but that did not happen. Mikee said that what the two actors had done did not sit well with her. So, she called them out saying that they are disturbing her work.
“(I told them,) ‘Alam niyo, istorbo kayo.’ As in. Kasi nga, I’m an athlete, right? Sanay ako na ginagano’n ako, di ba? (Sanay akong sabihan na,) ‘Alam mo ayusin mo ‘yung ginagawa mo.’ I’m used to that kasi it’s business,” she said.
She said to them that this act does not please her because she has high regard when it comes to her work but these two actors disturbed her. Mikee Cojuangco did not mention the names of the two actors. The actress said that this incident happened when she was about 21 years old. Back then, she has not met yet her husband Dodot Jaworski.
