Vince Tañada Helps Paeng Stricken Cotabato Residents with Katips Profit
Director Vince Tañada helped the residents in Cotabato affected by Typhoon Paeng from the profit of the Martial Law film ‘Katips’.
Because of the damage caused by tropical storm “Paeng,” the director and producer promised that his crew will assist the Cotabato citizens who were in need. Taada posted the tragic image of the airborne view in Cotabato, where heavy flooding has turned the area into mud.
Even though former vice president Leni Robredo lost in this region, he claimed, they still deserve assistance. He claims that in order to assist our Kababayans in Cotabato, he will organize our donors and gather some of our resources from the Katips’ revenues.
“We will mobilize our benefactors and collate some of our resources from the #KatipsTheMovie profits to help out our Kababayans in Cotabato. Leni Robredo lost big time in this region. But it is not a matter of political affiliations now. All of us are Filipinos and we’re all in this together. We will help. #CotabatoNeedsHelp #PaengPH,” he said in her post.
For the globe tour of the movie, the Katips team is overseas. The amount of money from the movie’s proceeds that will go to Cotabato and other typhoon-affected communities was not specified by the filmmaker.
