Female Teenager Choked to Death After “Hijab” Got Caught in Go Kart

A female teenager identified as Ruwaida Adan has been choked to death after her “Hijab” got caught during Go Kart race with her friends.

A 15-year-old Muslim girl died in a horror accident after her headscarf called as “Hijab” became caught in a go-kart. The incident happened while the victim is having a Go Kart race with her friends.

The person at Capital Karts in Barking, East London forget to instruct Ruwaida to remove the headscarf before the ride. The race course implements a policy to remove all loose clothing to avoid accidents. According to the victim’s parents, Ruwaida is not wearing her head scarf all the time.

According to the investigation, Ruwaida’s end of the scarf was hanging out of her helmet and suit. However, the two parts in her cart designed to stop loose clothing became entangled and also damaged.

The rescuers immediately respond and took the victim to the hospital. The lady teenager suffered from hypoxic brain injury and asphyxiation, which leads to her untimely death four days after the incident.

Walthamstow Coroners’ Court jury said that no mechanics check Ruwaida before getting into her go-cart. The incident reportedly happened way back on August 6, 2021.

“No safety check ensured that Ruwaida removed her headscarf before getting into her go car. No daily mechanics check was carried out on August 6, 2021. In Ruwaida’s cart, the plastic drive belt guard to the rear axle was absent and the rear seat shield was damaged,” the jury said.

The victim’s family describes Ruwaida as a kind, thoughtful, caring, loving, strong, and wise girl. The family also expressed their grief about the incident.
