Bong Revilla has a different reaction to K-drama from what Jinggoy Estrada said
Senator Bong Revilla dedicated this post to South Korean star Park Eun-bin, also known as Atty. Woo Young-woo, amid the plan of his friend and colleague Senator Jinggoy Estrada to ban K-dramas in the Philippines.
Sen. Jinggoy received negative reactions after he expressed his plan to stop airing K-dramas in the country. Even showbiz personalities disagreed with him. Following the backlash, the lawmaker explained that his statement came from his frustration that more Filipinos are watching K-dramas than the ones being produced by Filipino artists.
On October 22, Park Eun-bin arrived in Manila for her Oct. 23 fan meeting. Her series Extraordinary Attorney Woo is a big hit among Filipinos. Even Senator Bong Revilla shared his wonderful words for the South Korean actress.
Sen. Bong shared an art card welcoming Eun-bin to the Philippines. In the caption of his post, the lawmaker said that he enjoyed the show and that his wife actress-politician Lani Mercado is a big fan.
“Filipinos truly learn so much from Extraordinary Attorney Woo and our excitement in each episode never ends! Hope you enjoy your visit and the warm Filipino hospitality!” the Senator said.
In the comment section of his post, the actor-politician also addressed the comments about his colleague’s past statement about K-dramas. Sen. Bong said that his fellow Senator has no proposal for banning K-dramas. He also said that Sen. Jinggoy was saying about the support from the government that the entertainment industry should receive.
“Kaya magkakatulong kami sa Senado looking at the korean model kung paano natin masusuportahan ang ating industriya tulad ng pagsuporta ng bansang Korea sa kanilang industriya at sining,” Senator Bong Revilla said.
