Still Unidentified Person Killed Teacher Inside School in Cebu
TEACHER – A 33-year-old high school educator was found dead inside a school in Naga City, Cebu.
In the Philippine educational field, most classes are executed on weekdays – Mondays to Fridays. There might be some remedial or activities at times held on Saturdays but students are never required to school to be back on Sundays.
Usually, students would either take a rest, spend time with their family, go to the church, or use the Sunday time studying for an upcoming exam or doing a project. In the case of teachers, it may be used in going to church, take a it of rest, spend time with loved ones, or do some works.
There are teachers who return to school even on Saturdays or Sundays for certain reasons. However, recently, in Cebu, a teacher who went back to school on a weekend was found dead in the stockroom of the school.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the police investigation found that June Leo Pañares, 33 years old, went back to Naga Integrated Center for Science, Technology, Culture and Arts in Barangay Inoburan, Naga, Cebu on Saturday night.
The fellow teachers of Pañares got worried and checked on him in the stockroom of the school. Based on the report, he was found dead inside the stockroom. His wounded body is wrapped by a curtain.
According to Naga City Police Station PLTCOL Junnel Caadlawon, they are looking into the possibility that stealing was the motive behind the incident. Based on the report, the motorcycle and mobile phone of Pañares are missing.
Currently, there is one person of interest based on the CCTV footage of the school. The police authorities continue to investigate the incident that led to the death of the educator. More updates may be posted soon.
