Ice Seguerra used to have a love team partner
Singer Ice Seguerra recalled the love team partnership that he had with former Streetboys member Spencer Reyes.
Ice, formerly known as Aiza Seguerra, started his career in showbiz when he was three years old. It was through a kiddie beauty pageant Little Miss Philippines in the longest-running noontime show Eat Bulaga.
From being a child star, Ice became one of those teen stars who was put into a love team set-up. Back then, he was paired with Spencer Reyes. In a recent interview on King of Talk Boy Abunda’s The Interviewer Presents on YouTube, Ice Seguerra looks back on his career, including the phase in which he had a love team partner.
The singer was talking about how difficult to have his transition because he was first known as a beauty queen. There was a certain fear in him that people might not accept him. Tito Boy mentioned the time when he held hands with someone.
“Hindi lang Tito Boy, inakbayan ako, nasuntok ko siya, si Spencer,” Ice recalled. The seasoned host said that he will never forget that moment when Ice held a man’s hand. Ice said that if he didn’t do that, he did not have a source of income.
When asked if Spencer had an idea regarding his gender preference, Ice said, “Ay oo naman, alam niyang magkabatak kami.” Recalling the “suntok” that he did to Spencer, Ice shared that they initially agreed to just hold hands but the former Streetboys member put his arm over Ice’s shoulder.
After those years, the former love team partners remained good friends. “Ang nakakatuwa lang, he never judged me, Ice said about Spencer.
In the same interview, Ice Seguerra also talked about his milestones in show business, from being a child star, a singer/musician, and a director.
