This is the life now of Spencer Reyes in Scotland
Former Streetboys member Spencer Reyes opened up about his simple life in Scotland with his own family.
For several years, Spencer spent his life in the Philippine showbiz. Aside from being one of the members of the popular dance group in the country, he also ventured into acting on TV and in films.
However, talking to Philstar, Spencer shared that he decided to quit showbiz and their manager Chito Rono understood his decision. More than a decade ago, he chose a simpler life away from the glitz and glamour of showbiz.
Previously, Spencer Reyes revealed that he has a high-paying job in Scotland. He works as a bus driver and serves as an essential worker amid the pandemic.
“We moved to the United Kingdom (UK) in 2008 kasi pinili ko pong magkaroon ng tahimik at simpleng buhay kasama ang pamilya ko,” he said about his life in the European country.
The former dancer-actor also shared things about his wife. He said that he met his wife Shiela in a blind date in 1994. “She comes from a conservative family in Bataan,” Spencer said.
The couple is now blessed with three children, 21-year-old Sasha who is a Pharmacy junior at the Strathclyde University in Glasgow, Sofia is a 17-year-old Marine Biology freshman in Aberdeen, and the youngest is Macoo, 9, who is in primary school now.
Spencer Reyes describes his children as “mababait”. “They can understand and speak Tagalog. At home, we talk to them in Tagalog. We are raising them the Filipino way para hindi nila makalimutan ang kultura natin,” he added.
The former Streetboys member also shared that it was easy for them to adjust in Scotland. He describes their life their as “hard but satisfactory”. They don’t have household helps and so they do the chores at home.
He also commended the government’s policy there when it comes to health and education.
