WALANG PASOK – Several local government units have declared class suspensions in various areas due to Tropical Depression Maymay.

Over the past few days, Tropical Depression Maymay has been lashing the country with heavy rains and strong winds. It causes minimal to minor threat to life and property.

On Wednesday (October 21, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration reported that Tropical Depression Maymay has been last spotted at 305 kilometers east of Baler, Aurora.

Maymay has maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour near the center, gustiness of up to 55 kph. It was expected to move slowly westward in the next 12 hours before it would slightly accelerate and move westward towards the eastern coast of Central Luzon.

The tropical depression is expected to weaken into a low pressure area but would bring moderate to heavy with at times intense rains over parts of the country.
