PNP Released the Wanted Poster of Percy Lapid’s Killer to the Public
The Philippine National Police (PNP) has released the wanted poster of veteran broadcaster Percy Lapid’s killer to the public.
The presenter Percival Mabasa, well known as Percy Lapid, was killed, and the police on Friday released a photo and a wanted poster of the probable culprit. Benhur Abalos, secretary of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), also urged the suspect to surrender because he had already been identified by law enforcement.
“Marami nang nakakaalam sayo, sumuko ka na,” Abalos addressed the suspect.
The reward for information regarding the suspect’s whereabouts has now been increased to P1,500,000. Recall that Abalos is offering a reward of P500,000 out of his own pocket in exchange for information regarding the whereabouts of Lapid’s killer.
Based on the confirmation of PBGen, the chief of the National Capital Region Police Jonathan Estomo, the reward was added by other friends of Lapid and other “concerned individuals” and increased to one and a half million. It will be recalled that Lapid was ambushed as he was heading home, based on the report.
Meanwhile, detectives retrieved Lapid’s car’s dashcam footage. The suspicious guys on a motorcycle were visible in the video near Lapid’s car before he was shot, according to police colonel Restituto Arcangel, the task force’s leader, and spokesperson of the case.
Before the individuals who are accused of killing the victim run away, gunshots can be heard in the footage. He declared that the PNP’s Anti-Cybercrime Unit had received the dashcam film for forensic analysis.
Lapid was a well-known critic of the Duterte and Marcos administrations. The PNP promised that justice would be served in his death. The Las Pinas Police are asking anyone with knowledge about the individual in the wanted poster to report them.
