DILG Offers P500k Reward to Those Who Can Give Information of Percy Lapid Killers

The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) offered a P500,000 reward to those who can give information to arrest the killers of Percy Lapid.

Benhur Abalos, secretary of the DILG, has offered a reward of 500,000 pesos to anyone with information leading to the capture of two suspects in the ambush of broadcaster Percy Lapid on Monday night in Las Piñas City. Abalos declared that he would pay the reward out of his own pocket.

“I’m offering P500,000 of my own money for any information that can help,” Abalos said during the ambush interview at the Manila Memorial Park in Parañaque City where Lapid’s remains were buried.

He also gave comfort to Lapid’s grieving family by saying that the government will use all of its tools to find the criminals. He added that the Philippine National Police (PNP) was thoroughly investigating all possible angles and leads to resolve the case.

Abalos had earlier sworn to solve the crime, put the suspects in jail, and hold them accountable for the murder of Lapid. Abalos stated that the broadcaster’s murder is being investigated from every perspective.

Around 8:30 p.m. On Monday, two gunmen riding a motorcycle ambushed Lapid near the BF Resort’s entrance in Barangay Talon 2 in Las Piñas City. He was renowned for his scathing critiques of the regimes of Rodrigo Duterte and Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
