Vic Rodriguez Speaks Out Over ‘Complete Exit’ from PBBM Admin
VIC RODRIGUEZ – Former Executive Secretary of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr breaks silence on his ‘complete exit’ from the administration.
In a formal announcement, Atty Rodriguez announced his retirement from his position. His official statement claims that he has decided to confirm the rumors that he is “completely exited” from the Marcos administration.
It should be noted that he will no longer be able to function as the president’s chief of staff after resigning as executive secretary, according to his replacement, Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin. Rodriguez and Marcos allegedly spoke at length about this choice.
According to the PNA’s article, Rodriguez resigned as his name was linked to the contentious issuance for the illicit import of sugar. Rodriguez claimed that due to his “privileged” conversations with Marcos, he had refrained from commenting on anything pertaining to his role as executive secretary.
In order to “honor in full recognition of and respect to both the Office of the President and the Office of the Executive Secretary,” he declared he would not discuss his private chats with Marcos. He resigned so that he could give his family adequate time, he explained.
He accepted such circumstances despite the fact that he faced a lot of condemnation and criticism for what he did. What is important, he emphasized, is that his conscience is clear.
“I have been ridiculed, maligned and subjected to baseless and unfair commentaries on all conceivable platforms, but I take solace in the legal aphorism, ‘Men in public life may suffer under a hostile or unjust accusation; the wound can be soothed with the balm of a clear conscience’,” he said.
“It has been an honor to have served the country. I will continue to serve as a private citizen to the best of my ability. Let’s support President Bongbong Marcos and our country Philippines!” Rodriguez said.
