Ice Seguerra on Having Regine Velasquez as his Concert Guest

Singer-songwriter Ice Seguerra shared his thoughts on having Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez as his concert guest.

Ice is celebrating his 35 years in the industry. With this, he will have a concert Becoming Ice in which he will share his journey in showbiz and his personal life. One of the guests at his concert is Regine.

In his Instagram post, Ice revealed that at a young age, he was already listening to Regine’s songs which is apparently the case for many Filipino music fans. He revealed that he tried the high notes sung by the Songbird but he was not able to do this.

“Kaya kapag lasing ako at may lakas ng loob, sa bidyoke ko talaga kinakanta yung mga songs niya. Doon ko lang nailalabas ang inner Regine ko,” Ice Seguerra shared. He said that he never sang a Regine song in any of his gigs before. “Kasi baka batuhin ako ng mga tao dahil pipiyok ako to the max,” he quipped.

Ice shared that he admires the Songbird because she is the kind of artist who brings out the best in other people, whether on the stage or backstage. He added that Regine would never make other people feel that she is the Songbird and she would even highlight other people.

“Pero pramis, pag siya talaga kasama ko mag perform, grabe ako mag aral ng kanta. Haha!” Ice said. When Regine said yes after being asked to be part of Becoming Ice concert, Ice said that he was “nawindang ng bongga.”

With this, Ice said that he will try his best to sing Regine’s songs. “So please, be kind to me guys,” the singer-songwriter asked his audience.

Then, Ice Seguerra had this message for Regine Velasquez. He said that the Songbird has remained an inspiration to him and other artists as well. “Hindi lang dahil sa talento mo pero dahil sa kung sino ka bilang tao. Thank you for saying yes to me,” he said.

Becoming Ice will take place at the Theatre at Solaire, on Oct. 15, 8 pm.
