Car Driver Airs Dismay Over Counterflowing Funeral Procession

Car Driver Slams Over Counterflowing Funeral Procession For Causing Inconvenience Along the Road

A car driver has expressed his disappointment over the counterflowing funeral procession, which causes inconvenience along the road.

A funeral procession is a procession, usually in motor vehicles or by foot, from a funeral home or place of worship to the cemetery or crematorium.  This practice has shifted over time toward transporting the deceased in a hearse, while family and friends follow in their vehicles.

Most people usually give way to a funeral procession to show respect for the dead. However, funeral service personnel should also abide by the traffic rules and regulations in the country to avoid causing trouble along the road.

The Facebook page VISOR has shared video footage of a counterflowing funeral procession, which causes inconvenience along the road. The video spread like wildfire online and elicits criticisms from the netizens.

In the video, it can be seen that the driver noticed the funeral procession in the opposite lane. The funeral car counterflows on the other lane, which causes inconvenience and traffic congestion across the street.

The road marshals also counter-flowed on the opposite lane while guiding the funeral car. Other riders have no crash helmets and urge other vehicles to give way to them.

“Ask ko lang kung itong mga ganitong parada ba ay exempted na sa batas? I mean, nag-counterflow, wala pang mga helmet, at mga siga patabihin ang mga sasakyan. Shouldn’t we respect the living more? Isang patay, andaming buhay ang naabala.”
