PAGASA Says ITCZ & Localized Thunderstorms to Affect PH Weather Condition
The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the country will have a fair weather condition except for rain during afternoon and evening.
On Friday (September 30, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) released the latest weather update in the country. The Intertropical Convergence Zone and localized thunderstorms will affect the country’s weather condition.
The ITCZ is not expected to bring overcast skies and strong rains in the south of Mindanao.
PAGASA reported that the Intertropical Convergence Zone will be affecting southern Mindanao. It would bring partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over BICOL Region, Northern Samar, and Oriental Mindoro.
The localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies over the Visayas, Palawan including Kalayaan Islands, and Occidental Mindoro. The ITCZ and localized thunderstorms also bring similar weather conditions over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
The weather agency said that Fair Friday morning weather is expected nationwide. However, rainfall is expected in the afternoon and evening.
“Sa Metro Manila at sa nalalabing bahagi ng ating bansa, ay asahan lang natin ang bahagyang maulap hanggang sa maulap na kalangitan. Magiging generally fair weather conditions ang mararanasan ngayong umaga, samantalang mataas ang tsansa ng pag-ulan pagdating ng hapon o gabi,” Pagasa weather specialist Patrick Del Mundo said.
PAGASA also warned the residents in the affected areas of possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
The coastal water condition over the entire country will be slight to moderate, according to the weather bureau.
