Anthony Taberna Take Swipe vs Kakampinks Over Boycott Campaign Against Shopee
Seasoned broadcaster Anthony Taberna slammed the ‘Kakampinks’ over their boycott campaign against the online shopping platform Shopee.
Anthony “Ka Tunying” Taberna criticizes Atty Leni Robredo’s supporters for reportedly closing the online marketplace after they revealed their new endorsing celebrity. In addition, it was said that Shopee was firing staff members.
Ka Tunying made his comments on the most recent episode of his YouTube live after netizens, primarily from the Angat Buhay chairperson’s camp, urged people to boycott Shopee after it chose Toni Gonzaga, an actress, and singer who supports Marcos, as its newest brand ambassador.
“Wala kayong kadala-dala… yang boycott, boycott niyo na yan malaking kalokohan yan… dahil marami ng Pilipino ang na-bu-bwiset dyan sa boycott, boycott i-style nyo na yan,” he said.
“Hindi pa ba kayo nakaka-move on sa matindi at kahiya-hiyang pagkatalo nung manok niyo? Dapat tapos na yun, tapos na yun. Pwede ba tama na? Sinasaktan niyo lang ang sarili niyo,” he added.
Meanwhile, the seasoned journalist also congratulates Toni Gonzaga on being the brand’s newest ambassador and spokesperson. When Toni’s support was made public, some online users demanded that the company be boycotted.
Recently, the hashtags #BoycottShopee and #ByeShopee also gained popularity online in response to the release of the aforementioned teaser. Toni, on the other hand, remains unfazed by the call of critics.
