Liberal Party is Now Preparing Their Plan for 2025, 2028 Elections
The political party ‘Liberal Party’ is now preparing and planning their next move for the 2025 and 2028 elections.
Even though the previous election was only a few months ago, preparations have already begun. Former Ifugao Representative and unsuccessful senate candidate Teddy Baguilat Jr. stated in an interview that he believe that failing to plan early contributed to their loss in 2022.
The former vice president Leni Robredo also attended their gathering, where they promised it wouldn’t happen again. He claims that Leni’s defeat was brought on by her choice to wait until October [2021] to start organizing for the elections in May 2022.
“Hindi maagang napaghandaan, ganoon lamang kasimple,” said Baguilat. “Ang decision ni Ma’am Leni, October [2021] so you have a few months to prepare for the national elections, for the campaign versus doon sa kabila na years ago pa nila pinaghandaan.”
Baguilat says that it is preferable for them to begin their preparations as soon as possible for the person they anticipate the Liberals would select as their candidate in 2028. They have not yet stated who they will back in the elections of 2025 and 2028.
“I’m not saying na puro eleksyon nalang ang iniisip pero kung may mga nakikita ka nang posibleng tatakbo sa 2028 sana ngayon palang sinimulan na ‘yung makinarya mo,” he said.
But they anticipate that former senator Kiko Pangilinan will run for office. Sen. Risa Hontiveros might serve as their pillar in 2028 as well.
“I think kung mayroon man ang iniisip na mga kasama namin si Risa Hontiveros ‘yung isang iniisip,” said Baguilat.
Baguilat made it clear that Hontiveros will not run for president despite choosing her as their standard bearer. Hontiveros has yet to comment on LP’s plans for him.
