Robbery Suspect Dies During Shootout w/ Cops at Convenience Store in Rizal
A robbery suspect died during a shootout with the police authorities at a convenience store in Rodriguez, Rizal.
On Friday (September 9, 2022), the police authorities responded to a robbery incident inside a convenience store in Rodriguez, Rizal. The store is already closed when the suspects entered the establishment to steal valuables.
The security official monitoring the CCTV footage inside the shop reported the incident to the police authorities, according to Rodriguez Municipal Police Station Chief Police Lieutenant Colonel Marcelino Pipo.
“Tumawag sa amin ang security nila, nakita nila sa CCTV na may tao sa loob ng store nila,” Pipo said.
According to the police investigation, the suspects pass through the roof and destroyed the ceiling to enter the store.
The police officers caught the suspects performing their illegal activity but the culprits tried to escape. The cops shoot one of the suspects but the two others were able to run away and escape. The suspect who suffered a gunshot wound passed away.
The cops recovered the stolen valuables, cash, and firearm from the suspect. The police reported that four robbery incidents in various convenience stores in the area. The authorities also praised the civilian who helped them to catch the robbery suspects.
“Hindi po ko nagdalawang isip na tulungan ang kapulisan natin. Handa akong tumulong para malutas yung mga kriminalidad sa lugar natin,” the civilian said.
