Paolo Ballesteros is indeed a drag queen
TV host Paolo Ballesteros is both proud and pressured to be chosen as the host of Drag Race Philippines, the Filipino version of RuPaul’s Drag Race.
The show is a competition between drag artists and the winner will be named “Drag Race Superstar.” Paolo is known for his amazing makeup transformations. How he copies the faces of various famous celebrities is just remarkable.
Now, he reached another milestone. By hosting Drag Race Philippines, he is also showcasing his wonderful costumes. In a recent interview, based on the article in The Philippine Star, Paolo admitted that he also felt pressured by this stint.
Indeed, this is something that he is proud of. It is an honor for him to be with talented queens. “I do also feel a bit pressured because I am tasked to fit a rather big shoe but that only makes me and everybody strive for the best,” Paolo Ballesteros said.
Aside from being the host, he is also the head judge of the show. Paolo said that as it is the premiere season of the show, they want to showcase the finest in the Philippines. Being one of the hosts of the longest-running noontime show Eat Bulaga, he shared that he is also trying to infuse the humor and hosting style of the Kapuso show.
“I have fun with the queens and the judges as much as I have fun with my Dabarkads. It’s just like Eat Bulaga na may English haha!” the host enthused.
Paolo Ballesteros also stressed that it is time for the world to see the talented drag queens in the Philippines. The show also showcases the culture and artistry of Filipinos. “We are world-class, matagal na and we are grateful for this show,” he said, adding that the drag community in the country is full of passion.
