Jane de Leon plays the big sister role for Zaijian Jaranilla
Kapamilya actress Jane de Leon shared her sweet message to birthday boy Zaijian Jaranilla who plays the role of her younger brother in the Darna series.
Zaijian is a grown-up lad now. He rose to fame when he starred in the series May Bukas Pa from 2009 to 2010. From being a child star, he is now one of the prominent actors of his generation. He recently turned 21 and his “Ate” Jane shared a birthday message.
Through a video greeting on the Kapamilya morning talk show, based on the article in Bandera, the actress expressed love and support to her “younger brother.”
“Hi Bunso! Gusto lang kitang batiin ng happy, happy birthday! Alam mo naman na sobrang mahal na mahal kita,” Jane de Leon said. She also said that she considers Zaijian as her true brother. The actress also assured the actor that she will always be there for him.
Jane also noted that Zaijian is a big part of her life. “Just enjoy. And please always love yourself and protect your heart,” the actress added. Aside from Jane, there were also several celebrities who greeted the former child star such as Dominic Ochoa and the cast members of the series The Broken Marriage Vow.
Meanwhile, Jane de Leon has received support from actresses who played the iconic Darna role in the past such as Rio Locsin and Vilma Santos. Prior to the filming of the series, the actress was able to meet and have a conversation with Liza Soberano who was supposed to play the character.
Jane was chosen to play the Darna role after Liza backed out due to the finger injury that she had while doing the Bagani series. Following the audition, Jane was chosen.
