Janella Salvador Confirms She & Markus Paterson Have Parted Ways
JANELLA SALVADOR – Darna actress Janella Salvador opened up about being a single mom to son Jude.
Janella Salvador and Markus Paterson confirmed their relationship in September 2020. A few months after, they disclosed that they are already parents as they introduced their son Jude to the public.
Speculations that Janella and Markus broke up arose after netizens noticed that the two celebs have not been posting pics of each other on their respective IG accounts. The actress earlier addressed the rumors and stated that she and Markus are happy “individually,” although she neither confirmed nor denied the breakup speculations at the time.
During her recent interview with broadcaster Bernadette Sembrano, Janella Salvador confirmed that she and Markus Paterson have parted ways as she described herself as a single mom.
The 24-year-old Kapamilya star initially spoke about how she can relate to her “Darna” character. “I actually portray two characters. Si Valentina, she’s the monster. The alter ego is Regina, she’s the human form. Si Valentina, she’s a monster, she’s fierce, she’s scary. Si Regina, she’s a lawyer and vlogger. She’s very intelligent and her heart is in the right place. She fights for justice,” she began.
Opening up about her similarities with Regina, Janella said: “Kasi si Regina, kapag meron siyang ipinaglalaban, as long as alam niyang nasa tama siya, ilalaban niya talaga.”

When asked what was the most recent endeavor she has been battling with in real life, Janella Salvado quipped: “Being a single mom.”
“At the end of the day, alam kong kaya ko naman siya. As much as I love the people around me who are always there to help me, I always want to know na kaya kong gawin. I can rely on myself na hindi ko kailangang humingi ng tulong sa iba.”
Janella also gave credit to her mom Jenine Desiderio, who she considers as one of her inspirations in being independent. She said, “Siguro kasi I saw my mom growing up, kung paano siya — she was able to raise us on her own. So siguro na-embody ko rin kung paano siya — I wanted to be independent as well.”
