NBI Says DNA Result of Jovelyn Galleno Released by PNP “Reliable”
JOVELYN GALLENO UPDATE – The National Bureau of Investigation claimed that the victim’s DNA result released by PNP is “Reliable”
The Philippine National Police found the alleged remains of Jovelyn Galleno last week at Sto. Pulang Lupa, Brgy. Sta. Lourdes in Palawan along with her identification cards and other belongings.
However, the police authorities conduct an autopsy and DNA test to confirm if the bones recovered in Sta. Lourdes belongs to Galleno.
Earlier this week, the authorities released the DNA result of alleged Galleno’s remains. Based on the result, the remains were owned by the lady victim. The family gets emotional after the authorities released the results.
Recently, NBI Palawan Special Investigator Cedric Caabay claimed that he strongly believes that the DNA results released by the Philippine National Police are reliable. He claimed that the results could not just easily be manipulated, or controlled by anyone.
Caabay explained that the experts in the laboratory at National PNP used the samples sent by PNP personnel from Puerto Princesa. The NBI personnel said that the result is truly reliable because it turned out to be 99.99% positive.
However, NBI Palawan will still perform a different examination. In fact, experts from NBI national will lead the process.
