James Yap and Michela Cazzola are happy about their relationship status
Michela Cazzola, or Mic, the girlfriend of basketball player-turned-politician James Yap shared the reason why they are not getting married yet.
James and Mic now have two kids, MJ and Francine. Just recently, Mic returned to the Philippines from Italy where she stayed with their kids amid the pandemic since 2020.
In an article by entertainment columnist Dolly Anne Carvajal in Inquirer, she shared the short conversation she had with the partner of James Yap. The columnist asked Mic why she and James are not tying the knot yet.
“I see married people who are happy, while many others are not. Marriage isn’t always necessary,” Mic shared which Dolly Anne agreed with. The columnist said that she can totally relate to what James’s partner said because her marriage has been annulled years ago. “As I always say, marriage can sometimes just be a mirage,” Dolly Anne said.
When asked if they are planning to have more kids, Mic said that she is already in good company. Regarding James’s political stint, her partner expressed all-out support. The PBA star is now a councilor in San Juan.
Mic said that through this, James can help more people. “Because that’s what he loves to do,” she said.
It is known to many that James Yap was previously married to Queen of all Media Kris Aquino. They have a son Bimby. After they separated, issues about James’s responsibility as a father circulated. He is being accused of not fulfilling his duties to his son.
However, in one of the episodes of veteran showbiz writer Cristy Fermin’s YouTube show Showbiz Now Na, she revealed the reason why James has not been contacting his son with Kris. Cristy said that it is because Kris was trying to separate Bimby from James by different excuses when the father visits his kid.
