A figure of speech that attributes ” human nature or character to animals, inanimate objects, or abstract notions, especially as a rhetorical figure” is called personification. This is one of the most commonly used literary tools and is a type of metaphor.
Simply put, personification is talking about non-human things as if they were human. It is representing something in the form of a person.
