PHILIPPINE HOLIDAYS 2023: List of Non-Working Days & Special Working Days

Here’s the Philippine Holidays 2023 released by Malacañang Palace.

PHILIPPINE HOLIDAYS 2023 – Malacañang Palace releases the official list of regular holidays and special non-working days for 2023.

You can now plan your vacations or as early as now because the Malacañang Palace on Tuesday, August 23, released the official list of regular holidays and special non-working days for 2023.

Philippine Holidays 2023

President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. through Executive Secretary Vic Rodriguez signed Proclamation No. 42 which declared 10 regular and 7 special non-working holidays.

All Souls’ Day (November 2) and December 31 were reverted as special non-working days. The Proclamation also stressed the need to commemorate the 37th anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution “which ushered political, social and economic reforms in the country.” 

Eidul Fitr and Eidul Adha, two major feasts of Islam, were proclaimed national holidays.

REGULAR HOLIDAYS FOR 2023:

  • New Year’s Day – January 1 (Sunday)
  • Maundy Thursday – April 6
  • Good Friday – April 7
  • Araw ng Kagitingan – April 9 (Sunday)
  • Labor Day – May 1 (Monday)
  • Independence Day – June 12 (Monday)
  • National Heroes Day – August 28 (Monday)
  • Bonifacio Day – November 30 (Thursday)
  • Christmas Day – December 25 (Monday)
  • Rizal Day – December 30 (Saturday)

SPECIAL NON-WORKING DAYS FOR 2023:

  • EDSA People Power Revolution Anniversary – February 25 (Saturday)
  • Black Saturday – April 8
  • Ninoy Aquino Day – August 21 (Monday)
  • All Saints’ Day – November 1 (Wednesday)
  • Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary – December 8 (Friday)
  • Last Day of the Year – December 31 (Sunday)
  • November 2 (Thursday) – Additional Special (Non-working) Day

For pay rules according to the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) during regular holidays, it would be:

  • 100 percent of their salary ([Basic wage + COLA] x 100 percent)] to those who did not work
  • 200 percent of their regular salary for the first eight hours ([Basic wage + COLA] x 200 percent) for those who worked
