Fair Treatment for ‘Aspins’ is the Advocacy of GMA Actor Alden Richards
Alden Richards and his advocacy for AsPin contributed a lot and with that he has been named as the newest celebrity spokesperson for the Philippine Animal Welfare.
On National Aspin Day last Thursday, August 18, the PAWS Instagram page announced the actor as a spokesperson for the group. This comes as PAWS has begun a campaign to inspire dog owners to take responsibility for and pride in their native dogs.
“To celebrate National Aspin Day, PAWS is launching the ‘I [Love] My Aspin’ campaign featuring Alden Richards, our newest celebrity spokesperson who will join Heart Evangelista in promoting aspins,” it stated.
According to the report of Inquirer.Net, Chichi, Richards’ 7-year-old aspin, will also join the actor in advertisements to encourage the adoption of aspin.
Alden said that his family has owned dogs all of his life, some of which are pure breeds and aspins. When questioned by PAWS why he volunteered to serve as a spokesperson, he added that they all genuinely love their dogs.
The report also mentioned that, Richards continued by seeing “discrimination” between aspins and other dog breeds, which he had personally witnessed with his dog Chichi.
He added that Chichi comes over right away to see how he’s doing whenever anyone approaches him or when he acts upset. Alden therefore takes offense when he hears remarks that disparage aspins. Every dog should be treated like a member of the household.
In addition to calling himself a “proud aspin parent,” Richards thinks that more people should talk about how wonderful aspins can be as pets and how they ought to have a family who will love them.
Richards will next be seen in the Philippine remake of the popular South Korean drama “Start-Up,” “Start-Up PH,” where he co-stars with fellow Kapuso actors Bea Alonzo, Jeric Gonzales, and Yasmien Kurdi.
