Max Eigenmann paid tribute to the late Cherie Gil
Actress Max Eigenmann was hailed as the Best Actress at the 18th Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival on August 14 and she dedicated this achievement to her late aunt multi-awarded actress Cherie Gil.
Cherie’s family poured beautiful words about her life and her career on social media. She is indeed one of the icons in the entertainment industry and many were saddened when she passed away.
In Max’s speech when she accepted the Best Actress trophy during the awarding ceremony that was held at the Cultural Center of the Philippines’ Tanghalang Nicanor Abelardo for the movie 12 Weeks, she mentioned the late actress.
Based on the article in The Philippine Star, Max Eigenmann said, “Tita Cherie, this is for you! Mabuhay ang pelikulang Pilipino!”
On August 6, Max shared a heartwarming post for her aunt. She compiled some of the photos she had with the late actress. Max said that for other people, her aunt was a prominent actress who played antagonist roles so well but for her, the role of Cherie Gil in her life was her listener when her father pissed her off.
