Diego Loyzaga expressed these words about his father
Actor Diego Loyzaga admitted that he has been hearing “anak ni Cesar Montano” remark and this does not bother him at all.
Diego is the son of the award-winning actor with seasoned actress Teresa Loyzaga. The father-and-son tandem had their first-ever project together through the movie Maid in Malacañang. In a media conference for the said movie, Diego shared that he has been longing for his father since he was young.
Based on the article in Bandera, Diego said that growing up, he would always ask his mother about his father. The younger actor said that Teresa would always have good words about Cesar. “Maniwala ka man o hindi, laging maganda ‘yung sinasabi ni Mama. ‘Yang daddy mo, nagtatrabaho ‘yan. He’s working hard, he’s working for you, for the family,’” Diego Loyzaga shared.
Cesar said that it has always been his wish to spend time with his son because he was not able to bond with him when he was growing up. Diego and Teresa lived in Australia back then. Then, the younger actor admitted that when he was starting his career in the entertainment industry, people would always say, “ay, anak ni Cesar.”
He is aware that people would see him under the shadow of her father. On the other hand, Diego said that he will always be the son of Cesar. “And I’m proud. Is it hard? No, it’s not hard,” he said.
Diego Loyzaga stressed that seeing how his father raised his kids and how he values his craft, makes him proud. He added that he would be very much happy to reach even half of what his father has achieved. “It will make me a proud man the day I die,” he said.
When asked about the greatest lesson that he learned from his father, Diego said that there is no single thing that would make a man. He said that he learned from Cesar that being a man is a compilation of many things, so many phrases, and many things to go through.
