Cesar Montano was asked about love advice for son Diego Loyzaga
Kapamilya actor Diego Loyzaga received a “friendly” advice about love from his dad seasoned actor Cesar Montano.
Diego was able to rekindle the relationship he has with his father. The younger actor shared his public apology for his dad on his Instagram account. However, Inquirer entertainment columnist Dolly Anne Carvajal, the BFF of Cesar, said that the seasoned actor has long forgiven his son prior to the apology.
The columnist also shared that she asked Cesar if what advice he can give to his son who broke up with his girlfriend early this year. Diego Loyzaga and Barbie Imperial confirmed that they ended their relationship that lasted a little over a year.
When it comes to love and relationship, Cesar Montano said that he is not in a perfect position to share words of wisdom with his son. However, he said that what he could give to Diego is a “friendly” advice.
“I am still a work in progress. But I can give him a friendly tip: He has to be honest and transparent with his girlfriend. May kasabihan, ‘Ang pagsasabi ng tapat ay pagsasama ng maluwat,'” the award-winning actor said.
Cesar also cited a verse in the Scriptures. “And the scripture says, ‘Truth may hurt, but it will set you free.’ It applies to all of us, actually. So next time he meets a girl he likes, it’s best to tell the girl what his intentions are. Serious ba s’ya o gusto n’yang play-play lang,” he said.
The seasoned actor added that Diego should be honest to the girl if she should take him seriously or just consider he is playing, if the girl also agrees with “no strings attached setup.”
However, Cesar said that he doubts that this will be the case because he knows at the end, it will still hurt. “He has to treat every girl right, especially the one na mapupusuan n’ya,” he said.
He also said that if his son will do this, he will have peace and joy in his next relationship. On the other hand, Cesar Montano clarified that he is not saying that Diego Loyzaga did not treat Barbie Imperial right when they were together.
“I am sure he did. Maybe they’re just not destined for each other. Pinagtagpo, pero ‘di nakatadhana,” the seasoned actor said.
