In the Philippine showbiz industry, there are a few individuals who made a huge mark. They are marked as the “veterans” in the field for their excellence in acting and how they made the roles they portrayed truly unforgettable.

One of the veteran actresses in the Philippine showbiz industry is Cherie Gil. She has played several roles during her career but, undeniably, she best portrays the “kontrabida” roles. Contrary to what happens to other actors and actresses, the public love her seeing playing the role of an antagonist.

Cherie Gil’s most popular role is Lavinia Arguelles, her character in Bituing Walang Ningning. She worked together with Megastar Sharon Cuneta who was the protagonist of the project. Sharon Cuneta’s message for Cherie Gil following her death contained her emotions over losing her “true screen partner”.
