Many people grieved over a great loss. La Primera Contravida actress Cherie Gil died at the age of 59 and many were left heartbroken. The cause of her death is still uncertain but there are speculations online saying that she had cancer.
To recall, before she left the country, she had her head shaved which, as per her, is a sign of her rebirth. But a realization hit the people after the announcement of her death. She probably had cancer and she just chose to keep it when she decided to leave and permanently stay in New York to be with her kids.
One hit that people notice is her one post on Facebook where she commended the staff of Memorial Sloan Kettering – Cancer Center in New York. Accordingly, this is a cancer treatment and research institution in the borough of Manhattan in New York City. Its founding name is New York Cancer Hospital.
She’s been receiving treatment at the cancer center.
There were also photos of her where she looked sick. It caught the attention of many people and the photos are below posted on June 19:
People are still clueless about what caused her death.
The quintessential kontrabida will be remembered for her iconic roles in ‘Oro, Plata, Mata’ and ‘Bituing Walang Ningning’.
Amid the pandemic, she started her acting mentor career where she gave online masterclasses for aspiring and experienced actors. And in February 2022, she officially left the country to move to New York to be with her kids.
