Marco Gumabao has this answer when asked about the success of Daniel Padilla
Actor Marco Gumabao was asked if he feels “inggit” towards his friend actor Daniel Padilla who is now considered one of the superstars of his generation.
Indeed Daniel has reached different milestones since he started his career in the entertainment industry. He was able to penetrate various platforms in showbiz. Aside from acting, he is also a successful endorser of leading products and has conducted sold-out concerts as well.
With what Daniel has achieved, Marco was asked if he is envious of his friend’s success in showbiz. During the recent media conference of his movie Baby Boy, Baby Girl with Kylie Padilla, Marco Gumabao stressed that he never felt “inggit” towards his friend.
He admitted that he has already received this kind of question many times already, especially since Daniel is one of his closest friends in the entertainment industry. However, Marco said that envy is not what he feels. He said that he is happy with all the achievements that Daniel has reached.
“It’s more of proud ka sa kaibigan mo dahil ang layo ng narating niya and at the same time, ginagamit mo ‘yun bilang inspirasyon or motivation. Para kapag dumating ‘yung oras mo, pwede mong sabihin na parang ‘o, hintayin mo ‘ko riyan, papunta rin ako kung nasaan ka,” Marco stressed.
He added that looking at this from a perspective of envy will just be detrimental. Marco said that the person who is envious of the success of others is always the loser. For him, what other people have achieved should be a motivation for others.
Marco Gumabao pointed out that this should be a source of inspiration of people who are just starting in their journey to success. “Kung maiinggit lahat ng tao sa kanila, walang mangyayari sa industriya natin. Kumbaga, lahat tayo, maghihilaan pababa,” he said, adding that everyone has a destined time to bloom.
