RR Enriquez shared her thought on Darna trailer featuring Jane de Leon
Kapamilya actress Jane de Leon was chosen to play the iconic Pinay superhero character Darna in the series and this received a reaction from dancer/social media personality RR Enriquez.
ABS-CBN has recently released the official trailer of the much-awaited fantasy-drama series. Fans have long been anticipating the release of this series but it has encountered a lot of delays, especially amid the pandemic.
Through a recent Instagram post, RR shared her reaction to the lead actress. The former Wowowin dancer shared a screenshot of an article featuring the statement of veteran entertainment writer Cristy Fermin about Jane de Leon.
Cristy, based on the headline, said that Jane is “mahina ang dating.” RR agreed with what the showbiz writer said. “Ok mag aagree ako dito kay Nay Cristy,” the dancer said, adding that she watched the trailer and this is what she observed as well.
“Napanood ko din yung trailer. Wala ako nakitang special sa kanya. Walang kilabot or tindig ng balahibo,” RR said. For her, Jane has no “oozing” appeal. She also said that there is somehow pressure on the part of Jane as prominent actresses like Angel Locsin and Marian Rivera portrayed the role in the past. Then, RR mentioned Liza Soberano who was supposed to do the Darna movie.
The former dancer said that Jane is beautiful but she has no appeal, unlike Liza. RR also believes that there are those who are “chararat” but has oozing appeal. She even cited herself as an example. “Parang mas panalo pa si Iza Calsado nung nag Darna sya sa truth salad.. Nasapawan talaga..” she added. Iza portrays the role of Darna also who will pass the stone to Jane’s character.
RR Enriquez also said that perhaps a different kind of project is fit for Jane de Leon. On the other hand, the dancer said that she will give the Darna actress the benefit of the doubt because she might surprise the viewers.
