Marcos SONA 2022 To Be Held at Newly-Renovated House Session Hall

Update on Marcos SONA 2022 on July 25, 2022

MARCOS SONA 2022 – The first State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Bongbong Marcos will be held at the newly-renovated Session Hall of the House of Representatives.

The term of Pres. Bongbong Marcos has started. It was last June 30 at the Philippine National Museum where he took his oath as the 17th president of the Republic of the Philippines. The national event gathered the Marcoses, his Cabinet members, and several distinguished guests.

Marcos Jr. won the 2022 presidential elections through a landslide victory after getting over 31 million votes. He ran under Partido Federal ng Pilipinas and his presidential bid was supported by several national political groups and local government officials.

The presidential candidacy of Marcos Jr. was faced with a lot of petitions. It triggered the issues surrounding his tax charges, the regime of his late father, and the alleged ill-gotten wealth of their family. All petitions were junked by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) and the Supreme Court.

The Marcos family has decided to stay in Bahay Pangarap (House of Dreams) during the term of Pres. Bongbong Marcos. However, a few days after he assumed office, the 64-year-old President tested positive for COVID-19.

Marcos Jr. was in isolation for seven (7) days as per the protocol for vaccinated individuals. He initially had mild symptoms but they vanished in a few days and he was closely monitored by his lead physician while under medication.

The 7-day isolation period of the President is over and he is now back to physical work. Preparations are going underway for Marcos SONA 2022 which will be held on July 25, 2022.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the Marcos SONA 2022 will be held at the newly-renovated Session Hall of the House of Representatives. Around P100 million was spent on the renovation of the said hall under the watch of then-House Speaker Lord Allan Velasco.

Reportedly, automatic glass doors were put in the place of regular glass doors at the entrance of the session hall. The glass panels were lined with semi-frosted glass.
