Gina Pareño talked about this aspect of her personal life
Veteran actress Gina Pareño proudly revealed that she is a member of the LGBTQ community in a recent interview.
Gina has become one of the pillars of the entertainment industry. For several decades her acting prowess has been recognized by many and she has become an inspiration to many showbiz aspirants.
In a recent interview on talent manager-vlogger Ogie Diaz’s YouTube channel, Gina mentioned that amid the pandemic, she chose to somehow take a break from acting as part of her precaution. Her children Raquel at Michael wanted her to be safe. Gina admitted that she misses acting so much.
She also expressed how she really wants to do acting projects again. Gina also said that she feels sad that it seemed that no one remembers her anymore because of her absence in front of the camera. The veteran actress also made revelations about her gender preference. Ogie asked her about a special person in her life who passed away. Gina Pareño mentioned the name of Doktora Bong.
The talent manager shared he has worked with the veteran actress and she would bring the urn with Dra. Bong’s ashes on the set. Gina shared that until now, the urn is in her room. She said that it does not necessarily mean that she won’t let go of Dra. Bong but she would always be grateful to the special person in her life.
“Ang dami kong utang na loob doon, ‘tsaka mabait sa akin. Tinuturuan ako, ine-educate niya ako,” the veteran actress said. When asked how she and Dra. Bong met, Gina revealed that her special someone used to be an actress.
“Dati siyang artista, e, si Nenita Vidal. Napapanood pala niya ako. So, gusto na niya ang arte ko, ganun-ganun, naging close ako sa kanya,” she said. Gina added that Dra. Bong loved her so much.
The veteran actress also appreciated the fact that she has learned a lot from Dra. Bong, especially during the time when she was battling her drug addiction.
Then, Ogie Diaz asked Gina Pareño, “Kaya mo bang aminin na miyembro ka ng LGTBQ?” The veteran actress “Oo, bakit? May problema?” Gina added that she loved Dra. Bong with all her heart. She also said that her heart is not open anymore for a new love.
