Kean Cipriano talked about his decision to leave his band
Former Callalily frontman Kean Cipriano has this advice to band vocalists who are thinking to explore their careers as solo artists.
Kean has been the band’s frontman for more than a decade. In June, he announced that he has left the band because he wanted to go solo. He also revealed that for quite some time, he and his bandmates are not okay.
This decision of Kean did not sit well with other members of the Callalily. Apparently, that was the reason why they vented out on social media what they felt after their vocalist left them.
In a recent interview by Inquirer entertainment columnist Dolly Ann Carvajal, she shared the answer of Kean Cipriano about his advice to frontmen who wants a solo career.
“Just jump. Always fuel your creativity by shattering the constructs of your mind. ’Yung mga fallacy na ikaw rin mismo ang nag-build para sa sarili mo ang nagsisilbing obstacles sa journey mo, warakin mo,” Kean said. He added that one must know if the current situation is “not aligned sa kaluluwa mo, itigil mo na.”
The singer also said that everyone may not see what you see and that bashing may happen but the truth within you is more important. “No one can ever dictate upon your own truth. Ang natutunan ko dito, minsan kahit na nasa best intentions ang gusto mong mangyari, ang mundo ay sadyang may sense of humor,” he shared.
Kean Cipriano also said that life is not that simple but one can correct one’s self to be better at every obstacle. “Kaya tuloy lang,” he added. For Kean, the hardest part of going solo was his first jump or his first gig, and everything that is first. However, he feels happy and excited every after the show that he did.
