A CCTV camera has captured the drowning incident at a swimming pool in Minglanilla City in Cebu leading to the victim’s death.

Nowadays, Filipino people love to visit beaches and resorts in different tourist spots or destinations in the country, especially during the summer season. The warmer weather or dry season has already started and makes people visit relaxing places.

However, resort guests and visitors were advised to take precautionary measures when swimming to avoid any unexpected incidents. Drowning incident becomes one of the most common causes of death in swimming areas.

A certain company rented a resort in Minglanilla City for a team-building activity. However, an unexpected incident took the life of one employee, which has been captured by the CCTV camera inside the establishment.

The male victim named Claire Remocaldo jumped into the swimming pool but start to wave and ask for help from his colleagues. Unfortunately, his colleagues did not notice him in the pool.

“Upon investigation, iyong pat ng swimming pool kung saan siya lumundag is around 8ft ang lalim,” Minglanila Police Station chief P/Maj . Albart Tare said.

The resort’s lifeguard tried to revive the victim but he failed to do so. According to the lifeguard, the incident happened 20 minutes before Claire’s colleagues noticed him. The victim was not drunk.

The resort management expressed its willingness to face investigation and shoulder the victim’s burial expenses.

“Kasama ng konsehal, nandoon sila sampu ng pamilya. Hini ko alam pero baka finanacial, iyan naman ang kalimitang hinihingi at walang problema iyan,” resort owner Charito Delgado said.

The resort’s operation is currently suspended and will resume after the investigation period.
