Malacañang Gives Update on Pres. Bongbong Marcos

MALACAÑANG – The Palace spoke on the condition of President Bongbong Marcos on his 6th day of isolation due to COVID-19.

COVID-19 is still present across the globe. The World Health Organization (WHO) continuously reminds countries that the pandemic is “nowhere near over”. There is a rise in the cases of coronavirus in several nations.

In the Philippines, the daily recorded COVID cases increased a few weeks after the Elections 2022. One of those who recently tested positive for the disease is Pres. Bongbong Marcos.

Marcos Jr. assumed office last June 30. His oath-taking was held in the Philippine National Museum and it gathered his family, Cabinet members, and several distinguished guests.

The First Family decided to stay in Bahay Pangarap. However, a few days after the inauguration, Pres. Bongbong Marcos tested positive in COVID-19 antigen test as announced by Malacañang. Then, he had a slight fever.

The President has to be in isolation for seven (7) days as per the protocol for fully-vaccinated individuals who will contract COVID-19. His lead physician, Dr. Samuel Zacate, is closely monitoring him and he is on medication.

Recently, Malacañang gave an update on the condition of Pres. Bongbong Marcos now who is on his 6th day of isolation. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the Palace said that Dr. Samuel Zacate cited on a health bulletin that the President no longer has any cough, fever, nasal itchiness, or clogged nose. He is now free from all the symptoms of COVID-19.

Despite being free from all the symptoms now, Marcos Jr. has to complete the mandated 7-day isolation. Meanwhile, he continues his meetings through virtual discussions.

His current COVID-19 bout is Marcos Jr.’s second fight against the virus. He is one of the high-profile politicians who contracted the virus during the early months of the pandemic. Then, it took him weeks to recover and he really had struggling moments in bed.
