License of Motorcycle Rider Caught in Viral Video Nearly Hitting Cyclist Revoked by LTO
The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has revoked the driver’s license of the rider in a viral video nearly hitting a cyclist.
LTO has revoked the license of the reckless motorcycle rider identified as Romeo Morales after he almost hit a cyclist in a bike lane in Quezon City. The rider disrespected the bike lane and violated the traffic rules and regulations.
The kamote rider even stopped and tried to attack the cyclist. Luckily, other motorists along the road were able to stop the reckless rider and even scolded the arrogant rider’s behavior along the road.
“The former attempted to overtake with complete disregard for safety, resulting in a heated argument,” LTO stated.
The Department of Transportation Road Sector ordered LTO to identify the motorcycle driver. DOTr also urged the agency to hold the rider accountable for his arrogance and demeanor.
The agency also issued a show-cause order after verifying the suspect’s details and information. The latter also confirmed his identity as the driver during the time of the incident.
Morales violated Sec. 48 and Sec. 54 of Republic Act 4136 or the Land Transportation and Traffic Code. He would face charges for reckless driving and obstruction of traffic.
The transportation bureau has also ordered the latter to transfer the ownership of the subject motorcycle under his name within 20 days.
The cyclist named Raymond Estoque Tungcab is hoping that the incident would serve as a lesson to other motorists along the road.
