Pres. Bongbong Marcos OKs Extension of EDSA Carousel Free Rides

BONGBONG MARCOS – The Philippine President approved the extension of the EDSA Bus Carousel offering free rides until December 2022.

The new administration is on its 3rd day now since it started its term. It was on the last day of June when Pres. Bongbong Marcos took his oath as the 17th president of the Republic of the Philippines. He won a landslide victory during the Elections 2022 after getting over 31 million votes giving him a huge lead from his rivals.

Marcos Jr. was the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas standard-bearer. Several political groups in the country supported his bid. Most local government officials also support the former Senator in his presidential bid.

The inauguration of Pres. Bongbong Marcos Jr. was held at the Philippine National Museum. All of his immediate family were present during the big day. Most of his Cabinet members also graced the event.

Marcos Jr. took his oath with his hand laid on the Bible that was used by his late father, former Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Sr., when he had his oath-taking in 1965. The former strongman was president of the country for around two decades.

On his first week in office, based on a report on ABS-CBN News, one of the first things done by Pres. Bongbong Marcos is approving the extension of the EDSA bus carousel. It initially offered free rides from Monumento Station and vice versa to PITX until July 31.

Marcos Jr. extended the EDSA bus carousel until December 2022. Based on the report, the new President also approved giving free train rides in MRT-3 for students starting August 22 until November 4. It was confirmed by Transport Secretary Jaime Bautista.
