Betong Sumaya Reveals Security Guard Prohibited Him to Enter GMA Building For Having No ID
The Kapuso actor Betong Sumaya has shared his unforgettable experience after a security guard prohibited him to enter the GMA building.
Alberto Sermonia Sumaya Jr. or popularly known as Betong Sumaya, is a Filipino comedian, actor, and former production assistant for GMA Network, where he is also a part of the network’s talent agency.
Recently, the 46-year-old actor shared his unforgettable experience at the GMA building after the guard apprehended him and asked for his identification card. The incident reportedly happened way back in 2019.
According to Sumaya, the guard asked for his ID before entering the building. Unfortunately, the actor has no identification card because GMA did not give them any company ID.
“Dala ko pa yung damit ko, sabi ko [sa guard]: ‘Hi, kuya!’ Yung naka-smile ka talaga, Sabi sa ‘ken [ng guard], ‘ID mo?,'” Betong said.
One of the security personnel told the guard that Sumaya is one of the celebrities in GMA. The latter explained that he is an actor but the guard seems to be hesitant to believe him.
“Akala niya siguro utility [man] ako o ano,” Betong added.
The guard apologized to the actor for failing to recognize him as an artist. The personnel also explained that he was just performing the duty assigned to him as well as ensuring the safety of employees inside the building.
The guard and Sumaya were no close friends.
