Last weekend, the video footage of an SUV trying to run away after it bumped a motorcycle driven by an MTPB enforcer quickly spread like a wildfire online. The video garnered various reactions from the online community.

Recently, several news reports revealed further details regarding the hit-and-run incident. The report states that the traffic enforcer was able to block the driver from speeding away.

However, the MTPB enforcer did not issue a ticket anymore to the hit-and-run suspect after they agreed to settle the issue for P4, 000. The money is paid to compensate for the damage sustained by the enforcer’s motorcycle.

The officials of the Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau expressed their disappointment towards the traffic enforcer after he agreed to a settlement and failure to issue a violation ticket to the suspect.

MTPB Director Dennis Viaje slams the enforcer for his actions. The enforcer admitted his mistakes and apologized for his wrongdoings.

“Ang sabi kasi ng sa akin, sa sobrang nerbyos niya hindi niya na alam ang gagawin niya, Humihingi po ako ng paumanhin sa inyo. Alam ko po na may pagkakamali po talaga ako,” the enforcer explained.
