Nora Aunor is now a National Artist for film and Vilma Santos has this message for new national artists.
VILMA SANTOS – Veteran actress and Star For All Seasons, Vilma Santos reacts to the new set of National Artists for 2022.
The new set of National Artists for 2022 included Nora Aunor. This has been a title elusive to the iconic star after she got excluded from the list in 2014 due to her issues. But this year, she was finally declared a National Artist For Film by the Malacanang.
The other National Artists declared this year were:
- Ricky Lee (Film)
- Agnes Locsin (Dance)
- Gémino Abad (Literature)
- Fides Cuyugan-Asensio (Music)
- Tony Mabesa (Theater)
- Salvacion Lim-Higgins (Fashion)
- Marilou Diaz-Abaya (Film)
And now, reacting to this new set of national artists is Star For All Seasons Vilma Santos. She congratulated the new national artists of the country. She is happy for them but amid all these, some of her were not happy about it. This is because of her non-inclusion on the list.
Congratulating the new artists, she expressed:
“Isang pagpupugay ang dapat natin ibigay sa ating bagong set of National Artists. Bawat isa sa kanila ay may angking galing at talino na lubos na kahanga-hanga. I sincerely congratulate all of them.”
Addressing the matter that saddens her fans, she expressed a message to them. Accordingly, she believes that things that are meant to be will always find their way to happen.
“Huwag na kayo maging malungkot. Naniniwala ako na sa mundong ito, if anything is meant to happen, it will find its way,” she said. She believes that there is a time for everything according to a report in the Manila Bulletin.
